The short version: Dogweek is free. It connects families with sitters and daycares, but the agreement — and the payment — is between you and them. Be decent, tell the truth, and look after the dog.
1. What Dogweek is
Dogweek is an app for sharing a household's dog walks, finding a dog sitter nearby, and running a dog daycare. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. Dogweek is run by Mikael Laestander, enskild firma (a Swedish sole proprietorship).
2. Your account
Becoming a sitter requires being 15 or older. Give accurate information, keep your login to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under it.
3. The sitter board
Dogweek lets families post walks — a single walk, a range of dates or a weekly arrangement — and lets sitters nearby apply. When a family chooses a sitter, the agreement is between the family and the sitter. Dogweek is not a party to it, doesn't employ sitters and doesn't walk dogs.
- Payment is between the family and the sitter. The family names a price; they settle it directly — with Swish, cash or however they agree. Dogweek doesn't process payments, doesn't hold money and takes no commission.
- Sitters are independent. A sitter decides which walks to take and is responsible for declaring what they earn under Swedish rules.
- We don't vet sitters. We check that a sitter says they are 15 or older. We don't check identity, background or references. Meet, ask questions and use reviews before you hand over the lead.
- Cancellations and missed walks are recorded and shown on the sitter's profile, so patterns are visible.
- Reviews must be honest and about the walk. Don't write, buy or trade reviews that aren't.
4. Daycares
A business that registers a daycare is responsible for its staff, the dogs in its care and what it tells families. A daycare sees a dog only after the family approves a link, and loses access when the family ends it. No money moves between families and daycares through Dogweek.
5. How to behave
Use Dogweek for what it's for. Don't:
- harass, threaten or deceive anyone, in messages or anywhere else;
- post anything unlawful, abusive, or that you don't have the right to share;
- use the board to reach people for anything other than walking dogs;
- impersonate someone else (impersonating your dog is fine);
- try to break, reverse-engineer, overload or get unauthorised access to the service.
Every booking and conversation has Report or block. A report reaches us straight away. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
6. Your content
Photos, profiles, walks, messages and reviews you add stay yours. You give us permission to store and show them — only to the people they're meant for, and only so the app works. We claim no other rights to them and never use them for advertising.
7. Free, for now
Dogweek is free to use. If that ever changes, we'll tell you clearly in advance, and nothing will cost money without your explicit agreement.
8. The dog is your responsibility
Dogweek is a tool for organising walks. Whoever holds the lead is responsible for the dog on that walk, and the dog's owner remains responsible for the dog. Check that your own insurance covers the dog when someone else walks it.
9. No warranties, limited liability
We work hard to keep Dogweek reliable, but it's provided "as is". We can't promise it will always be available or error-free, or that GPS will behave in a forest. As far as the law allows, Dogweek isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for what families, sitters and daycares do or agree between themselves. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under Swedish law.
10. Ending things
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — like limitation of liability — do.
11. Changes and law
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before they apply. Swedish law applies to these terms.
